So long story short, if you're joining for the first time, ignore the message saying you have to get a free account with something for age verification. I also remember having some trouble getting logged in, and I think I asked it to email me my password, and that worked it out. I assumed wasn't going to let me in, but I still ended up getting an email letting me join a few hours later. But they wanted my credit card number, and I said fuck it, even if I could supposedly cancel it before I was charged. R27, I had the same experience with, and I almost got that free account with steamen or whatever it was the message told me to join.
